COMPTON, Calif., — Over 400 Compton Unified School District (CUSD) Chavez High
School students were rewarded for their hard work during the school year, Thursday, December
13, with a series of musical performances.
Hosted by actor Kel Mitchell (Nickelodeon’s “Good Burger”), the motivational “Stay
Focused” event was held in Chavez’s courtyard, 12501 N. Wilmington Ave., from 10 a.m. to
11:30 a.m. Performers included music producer and artist Kannon “Caviar” Cross, who has
worked with Aaliyah, Snoop Dogg, and DMX; singer Richie Alexander; D.J. Lico; and rapper
